A “Team of Trashers” getting trashed during the local's event at the Snowmass Club. New champions took home prizes in each division of this year's Trashmasters event.
The weather was perfect, the players were jazzed and plenty of trash was collected at the Local's Trashmasters Sept. 25 at the Snowmass Club.
“We were completely sold out with a standby list 20 deep,” said organizer Mark Stout. “The locals are really into this event.”
The Trashmasters' zany format rewards the strange and bizarre events as they occur during a round of golf while supporting the homegrown charity, The Roaring Fork Valley Scholarship Fund.
“We have new champions in each division. And, it was a trash extravaganza for quite a few of the participants,” according to Rules and Scoring Chairman, Jeffrey Sivess.
Linda Johnson took the Ladies championship, Eric Rystedt won the Men's Open Division, Jim Benson was the top Senior and Matt Deam took the Championship Flight. Snowmass Club Golf Superintendant Al Ogren won the “Most Stupendous Trash” with a Super-Stiffie, Sandie, Otis, net Eagle on the challenging par 5 hole #1.
