The Burlingame lift operates Wednesday through Sunday from now until early September. Use it to enjoy a shortcut to mountain fun.
Need an adrenaline rush? You're in the right place. The recent opening of the Burlingame chairlift has helped usher in summer on-mountain activities including biking, hiking, mountainboarding, disc golf, paintball and fishing.
A new volleyball court and horseshoe pit are free and open to the public and located at the bottom of the Village Express lift above the base area.
• The Burlingame chair is open Wednesday through Sunday from now through Sept. 7. Hours are 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. (last ride down is 4:15 p.m.)
It costs $10 for adults, $6 for youth and seniors and free to kids 6 and under.
• Mountain biking/hiking/mountainboarding is great on the ski area.Take the lift up and cruise on down if you're so inclined. Plenty of mall businesses rent bicycles.
• ACES guided nature naturalist hikes and walks are offered daily at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free. Meet at the information desk in the Snowmass Ticket Pavilion.
• Disc golf: Snowmass has two 18-hole courses – try your hand at this unique sport and play all 36 holes. Golf discs are available for rent or purchase in the mall and the base are.
• Run and Gun Paintball. A shot at the outdoor course costs $49 per person and includes all equipment and a round of paint. Open to those aged 8 and up. Call 923-1227 for more information.
• Family trout fishing is available on the ski area twice daily, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The cost for a private guided trip is $219 (for up to four people, adults and kids) and includes transportation, equipment, snacks and drinks.
