SNOWMASS VILLAGE- During Mondays Snowmass Village Town Council meeting, the Voices for Krabloonik advocacy group as well as the Krabloonik Advisory Committee met to share updates regarding the Krabloonik dog-sledding kennels located in Snowmass Village.
The Voices of Krabloonik, headed by Bill Fabrocini and Lee Ann Vold, was formed to work with Krabloonik owner Dan MacEachen on resolving the operational issues that they found most troubling.
Recurring meetings between MacEachen and the committee have proven to be most beneficial up to this point.
Its been very productive working with them, stated MacEachen following the meeting.
Mondays meeting was purely informational, as Vold and Fabrocini presented an overview on the progress which has been made between the two parties since the issue was initially addressed during a September town council meeting.
The presented issues included both the accomplishments and successful steps which have been made along with the continuing challenges that are being faced.
Although Fabrocini acknowledged the recent positive changes, he stated that there are still problems and challenges regarding this issue. He went on to describe the lack of exercise of the sled dogs, constant watering issues, as well as the population of dogs which the kennel houses.
A recent vet day was one aspect listed as a positive accomplishment.
Overall it was a great day, it was a great step, exclaimed Vold. Weve really come a long way, but that being said, still we have a long road ahead of us.
They made a very accurate, fair and professional presentation tonight, MacEachen added. We do still have problems, but most of them are financial related right now.
